The add-on EMC protection filter is designed to be mounted on fire panels, Protecting them from Surge Transients accordig to the latest standards. Typical protection for the exposed ports is obtained using SMC packaged transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diodes connected in the reverse bias mode to shunt any excess current to ground. The coupled conductors along with the capacitors act as common and differential mode filters.
